I’ve been meaning to write this post for over a week and a half now, ever since I finished the Throne of Glass series.
But with work, some side projects, and trying to collect my emotions over what happened in the books…I’ve been a busy bee.

I feel like this book is where the story really began. All the major players began taking some sort of action, Chess pieces were beginning to move and the stage was being set for all the stuff that was going to hit the fan.
The book started out slow in my opinion but picked up as the story progressed. I enjoyed how Sarah built Rifthold, giving us more descriptions as Aelin and the gang traveled around. Not to mention, the continued building of Morath.
I still disliked Chaol very much in this book. The slow burn between Rowan and Aelin almost made me scream. Manon easily became one of my favorite characters after this book. I feel like her growth as a character was much more than the others.
One thing I do have to say is that I didn’t really like how rushed the end felt as far as the King goes but the book is almost 700 pages….
