Today’s post is going to be all about my Goodreads Challenge and where I’m at so far for the year. I must confess that I haven’t been very active in updating how many books I’ve been reading. I really need to set aside a few moments of my day to update the widget but I feel like I have a thousand other things to do ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I’ve been a bad noodle these last two weeks and have not been using my planner which has caused huge disorganization in my life.

This year I decided to set myself a smaller goal for the reading challenge. Usually my goals are around the 90s-100s but knowing how much more occupied I’ve been this year, I knew I had to set myself a goal that was attainable with the amount of time I actually have and wouldn’t stress me out. Reading is something I do constantly and reaching that 90-100 isn’t out of the park but I’ve started various new hobbies this year, I wanted to be able to dedicate a reasonable amount of time to each.

30 books seemed like a good happy medium. It was more than a handful yet not as much as last year’s goal. I don’t feel pressured to be on track and I can easily extend the goal if I reach it before the year is over. [Which will probably happen]. Not to mention, I can take my time with certain books and reread them when I feel like there was something I was missing. I can even revisit some of my favorites when I fall into a reading slump.

How’s your Goodreads Challenge going? Are you on track?

Let me know in the comments below or drop the link to your post!

XOXOXO,

Jeimy

  1. bookending events are so much fun, your prompts look awesome and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s posts!

I feel like I update Goodreads every day (just because I’m bad at remembering when I start / finish a book, but I really really like to have that data) so I can’t quite relate there, but I’m currently in between bullet journals – just finished my old one and haven’t set up the new one yet – so that’s definitely not been great for my productivity ๐Ÿ˜•

it’s definitely good to set realistic goals and aim for balance; reading is awesome but it’s far from the only thing worth doing. I’ve actually done the same thing – I read 250 books last year, but have set my challenge to just 150 (and am currently at 117 so doing fine). my stress level tends to skyrocket during the school year, so I definitely don’t want to be worrying about exams and meeting my reading goals at the same time ๐Ÿ˜…

    1. Thank you, Iโ€™m very excited to see everyoneโ€™s posts too!
And I had to make a habit tracker for my July spread to remind me to update it everyday. I need to get on your level with reminding myself lol
I feel that on a spiritual level! Stressing about exams and meeting your reading goal is too much!
