November’s first blog post will be about something that I have kept myself from doing for *looks at calendar* months….A BOOK HAUL POST!!!

My last book haul post was so long ago and with the moving to a new place/getting my life together, I didn’t have the funds to indulge myself in new books. I borrowed a few from Kindle Unlimited then slowly went into a reading slump. However, this last payday was a bonus check and I just so happened to “pass by” Barnes and Nobles……and the rest is as they say, history.

Wicked Saints by Emily A Duncan, The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh, The Modern Fairy tales by Holly Black, The Near Witch by V E Schwab
Book Haul: Wicked Saints by Emily A Duncan, The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh, The Modern Fairy tales by Holly Black, The Near Witch by V E Schwab

Almost always, when I go into Barnes and Noble, I have a game plan. Go in, buy what I have on my to buy list, buy one extra book that’s not in the list that catches my eye, get out. This time around since it was such a impromptu visit, I let myself peruse the shelves with no though to the list.

The Beautiful By Renee Ahdien

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh was like a sore thumb in the sea of new YA releases. Maybe it’s because I’ve been itching to buy it since I saw it on Twitter….or Maybe because it was the only black book with such a saturated red against it…..Who knows? All I know was that it went in my basket without much thought.

The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black

To my delight, when I pranced down the Fantasy/ Fiction Isle, they had a whole book case just filled with Holly Black’s books. Top to bottom. Beautifully displayed. I wish I’d gotten a picture of it.

They also placed the Faerie books all together, starting with Tithe, Valiant, Ironside going into The Darkest Part of the Forest, then into The Folk of Air Series. (The Modern Faerie Tales was placed before Tithe as it is the all in one book of Tithe, Valiant and Ironside). For those of you who have yet to read Holly Black’s stories or have not realized, her stories tend to take place in the same universe. They all refer to one another in some way, shape or or form. (Book Reviews on all of Elflame coming after Queen of Nothing comes out, so stay tuned!)

Wicked Saints by Emily A Duncan
The Near Witch by V.E Schwab

Wicked Saints by Emily Duncan and The Near Witch by V.E Schwab were books I’d heard of and seen on the Newly Released table a few months back. I had liked the covers and the excerpts piqued my interests. Wicked Saint’s has a villain love interest? Sign me up. The Near Witch is a slow burn? Sign me up again!

Have you read any of the books above? What book release are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Wait, Wicked Saints has a villain love interest? I’m sold 👀 Great haul btw! I’ve only read The Folk of The Air series from Holly Black and I had no idea her books were linked! That’s an interesting concept.
