PROMPT

It’s The Final Countdown!

Are you behind on your Goodreads goal and/or your resolutions this year? What are some plans you have to catch up and meet your goals before 2020 ends?.

It’s the Final Countdown

I started off this year with lots of reading goals and hopes, like many of you. But 2020 hit me like a train; and with the pandemic, three reading slumps and work progressively getting busier…..Let’s just say all of those goals went out the window.

2020-reading-challenge

At the beginning of this year, I pledged to read 100 books this year. Let’s all take a moment and laugh together….LOL.

Reading 100 books wasn’t a goal that was unattainable for me, I’ve reached it before and I was feeling like this year was going to be good(…Again, let’s laugh. )

Things were going good at the beginning. I was reading books that I enjoyed, adding at least 1 to my read table every two weeks. I was making good pace. Then I got hit with not one but two reading slumps back to back. Somewhere between those first and second reading slumps...I stopped tracking.

The only books tracked from then until now are the ones from my Amazon Fire tablet which is linked to my Goodreads account. I honestly can’t tell you when was the last time (before this time) that I logged into Goodreads and added books to my read table.

I don’t know the real numbers of how much I’ve read this year and quite frankly, I’m happy about it. I have found this comfortable place where I can read without focusing on the number.

I don’t plan on trying to reach any goal I had set before the year ends. It is what it is at this point and I don’t want to throw myself into another slump…..three slumps was two too many.

Do you still have some reading goals left to complete? Let me know in the comments below or drop the link to you BEWinter20 blog post!

XOXOXO,

Jeimy
