The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Coffeeaddictedwriter relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
When did you first know you’re truly a bookworm? Did you lose sleep over a novel? (submitted by Kri @ The Tired Buyer)
The term bookworm wasn’t something I was familiar with until I was older. I grew up thinking that reading as much as I did and loving books was just a common occurrence. That it was “normal”. Obviously, as I grew and began to be more aware of those around me, I realized that it was a big fat no. The majority of my friends didn’t read. They didn’t like to read.
I found it so odd at the time but honestly, it was a product of my upbringing. Where kids were allowed to watch tv and go outside to play, I was confined to our small apartment with only books to entertain me. Considering myself a bookworm didn’t happen until I was in Highschool.
Is it really “losing” sleep if you willingly choose not to sleep?
I’ve definitely “lost” sleep in exchange for staying up to read. Multiple times. And I’m going to keep doing it and there is nothing anyone can do to stop me.
If the book is just that good, who cares if I get less sleep. I get to spend more time in a world I enjoy with characters that I’m loving.
