Down the TBR Hole: Chapter 1
Like all book lovers, I have a TBR list that never seems to stop growing.
It all started with ten books I got super excited about and now, fast forward to the future, there are a couple hundred! I read one or two then add six more!
I ran across this Book Tag [Meme?] a couple of days ago and it seemed like a great idea to push me into cleaning up my never-ending TBR list. I highly recommend you all to give it a try!
The book tag was originally created by Lia, formerly @ Lost in a Story.
For those of you who haven’t taken a look or participated, here’s the breakdown:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
This is a process that we (I) will be doing every week meaning that we (I) have to keep track of where we (I) ended and where we (I) will move forward from. From what I’ve seen many book bloggers have chosen their own intervals but many have done it in intervals of 5. For example Week 1 we (I) will do book/s 1-5 on the TBR list. Then Week 2 will be 6-10 and so on.
This will continue until the whole TBR list is filtered through, leaving only the books you (I) actually plan to read.
1. The Murmurings by Carly Anne West
I remember seeing this book in Barnes and Noble a long time ago; I think I was in high school still (should give you an insight on how long my TBR list is). I’m not sure it falls under the things I’m interested in anymore :/
2. The Bargaining by Carly Anne West
I don’t even remember adding this one to my TBR list. I must’ve added it when I added The Murmurings. Re-reading the excerpt in the back, it doesn’t catch my attention anymore.
3. The Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy
With my powers of deduction, I think I was on a supernatural binge when I added these books into my TBR. Re-reading the excerpt, It’s kinda interesting but not something I would pick up right away. Maybe on a rainy day…
4. Wondrous Strange by Leslie Livingston
This was before my Faerie obsession; before I read Holly Black and a whole new world opened up to me. I remember really wanting to read this book but I never had the time to sit down and read it. Then, when the time did present itself, the book was forgotten and left in my TBR list. Taking a look at it again, I think I’ll keep it. 🙂
5. Destiny Binds by Tammy Blackwell
It’s been a very long while since I’ve read anything werewolf/shifter related. I’ll keep this on my list and see. Who knows, I might develop a shifter obsession next? 😉
Overall Verdict: 2/5 books will be kept
How many books did you end up keeping from your TBR cleanup? Discarded? Did you re-discover any?
