Throw Back Thursday: Chpt 4
I can’t believe it’s already Thursday!
Once again, It’s time to dust some cobwebs and fall in love (possibly) all over again with books from our Past.
If you haven’t stumbled across my previous post on this tag, go over and take a look: Throw Back Thursday: Chpt 3
Just in case any of you are new, the rules are simple:
- You haven’t read the book recently (has to have been at least 3 years and back)
Voila! Simple, right?
While you’re dusting the dust off those pages and reading the excerpt on the back, ask yourself the following:
- When did you read it?
- Do you think you would you read it again now?
- Did this book have any impact on what type of books you read today?

This week TBT book is Marked (House of Night # 1) by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast.
I remember reading Marked, shortly after I had read Twilight. Although Vampires had fascinated me beforehand (Bela Lugosi’s Dracula was my first paranormal love at the sweet age of five years), my obsession was at an all time high.
Maybe it was because the Vampire fever that began that year with Twilight suddenly rising to popularity, who knows…But Marked was one of the many Vampire themed books I read that year.
Recalling it now, I had mixed feelings about the book. I wasn’t in love with it but It wasn’t bad either. I was intrigued with the way they weaved Vampires and Magic together; And honestly, at that age, the drama between the main character and the popular girl.
Throughout the years, I read the next installments of this series until the second to last one when I finally called it quits. The story did progress nicely and unexpectedly for YA books (will not spoil anything). However, by the time the last book was released I was tired of it. I felt like the main character was trapped in this never ending cycle where the same thing would happen over and over again.
I don’t think I would give it a second shot any time soon. I may like Vampires but I think I’ve exhausted the genre for a very VERY long time.
