Happy Sunday Bookworms!
The heat may be simmering down outside but definitely not in these books!
Corny. That was sooo Corny. I’m so sorry
Thanks to the lovely Mariana Zapata, I discovered a guilty pleasure. Sports-Romance Novels.
I’ve been seriously eating these suckers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner like nobodies business. Recommendation after Recommendation, I’m so deep in this Sport-romance novel rabbit hole that I don’t think I’ll ever stop. I dont want to stop.
Today’s Two for One Review is on Sara Ney’s newer series Jock Hard.

Title: Jock Row (Jock Hard #1)
Author: Sara Ney
Pages: 376 pages

Scarlett is always the sensible one: The sober driver. The planner. The one holding your hair back while you’re worshiping the porcelain gods.
Week-after-week, she visits Jock Row with her friends—the universities hottest party scene and breeding ground for student athletes. And if keeping her friends out of trouble, and guys out of their pants, was a sport, she’d be the star athlete.
Being a well known jock-blocker gets her noticed for all the wrong reasons; just like that, she’s banned from Jock Row. NO GUY WANTS A GIRL AROUND WHO KEEPS THEIR JOCK FRIENDS FROM GETTING LAID.
“Rowdy” Wade is the hot shot short-stop for the universities baseball team—and the unlucky bastard who drew the short straw: keep little Miss Goody Two-Shoes out of the Baseball House.
But week-after-week Scarlett returns, determined to get inside.
All Scarlett wants is to watch out for her friends at the party. Is it her fault that the guy’s pickup lines are corny? Of Course not.
But they don’t see it that way. Donned the nickname Cockblocker and escourted out of the premises by non other than the university famous short stop, Rowdy; Scarlett is banned from entering the Baseball house.
That doesn’t stop her from trying. And Poor Rowdy has to play babysitter out in the cold to prevent her from going in.
A battle of wits and stubborness, Jock Row by Sara Ney was a delightful read. I really enjoyed the book from start to finish. The slow burn element was definitely there in small pieces and the events of the book flowed together. It was a short and sweet story with an even sweeter ending.
I’m a sucker for dorky female leads and sweet-heart male leads.
Not to mention, the male lead POV always adds browney points.
If you are looking for a short and sweet story about a love-able jock and a sassy dorky young woman, then I highly recommend Jock Row.
Title: Jock Rule (Jock Hard #2)
Author: Sara Ney

Kip Carmichael is no pretty boy.
He’s a rough. Dirty. Giant. Hair so unruly, and a beard so thick, his friends on the team call him Sasquatch.
The first time Sasquatch lays eyes on Theodora “Teddy” Johnson across the keg at a party one night on Jock Row, she’d been relegated to the sidelines by her jock hungry “friends.”
Week-after-week, he watches beautiful but bashful Teddy getting overshadowed, and overlooked. Sasquatch finally broad shoulders his way through the crowd, offering to to be her hairy godmother. But the minute their eyes meet? He’s a goner.
Teaching her the RULES for winning a jock will be the easy part. Not falling in love with her is going to be a losing game.
Kip Carmichael hates parties. He hates the jock-chasers that attend them and the nonsense that usually takes place in them. He’s more than happy to stay on the sidelines, watching and hopefully scaring the jock-chasers away with his mountain man looks. Completely content with just casting a judgemental eye at the idiots that surround him.
But week after week of scowling at the crowds, his judgy eyes keep noticing Teddy. Teddy who just stands there in the middle of the party, Teddy whose friends are the very jock-chasers he detests. Teddy who seems so out of place from the crowd she hangs around. Obviously, she needs to be taught how to stand up to her friends, to stand up to everyone. And who better to teach her than Jock Row’s very own Sasquash?
Although, I enjoyed the first book in the Jock Hard series….Jock Rule has the first one beat for me.
I ADORE KIP CARMICHAEL. He’s a grumpy mcgrump and we all know that I am a wh….garbage for grumpy tall men. (Shout out to Aidan, Locke and Lukov) His relationship with his sister? Amazing. Him having a begrudging soft spot for Teddy? I’m a pile of goo.
Kip’s inner musings were a delight to read. A HOT DELIGHT.
Teddy was not my favorite female lead but I liked reading of her. I enjoyed her gradually realizing that her friend sucks. The way she handled Kip and his no filter mouth when they initially meet was a complete hoot. (People still use that word right?)
The story was an even quicker read than the first installment of the series but I loved every second of it. If you are partial to Grumpy Male Leads and a cute reluctant friends to lovers kinda deal, then I absolutely recommend Jock Rule.
